León is the capital city of the autonomous community of Castilla y León and it has some of the most spectacular monuments of all Spain.

It is essential for the visitor to go through the historical center and the old Barrio Judío neighborhood, a place filled with enchantment.
Among its streets, three squares or plazas are to be highlighted. Plaza Mayor, arcaded and having the former city hall building, the Plaza de las Palomas, with singular buildings, and lastly, Plaza del Mercado, popularly known as the Plaza del Grano, which is the one preserving most truly medieval charm.
Among the many surprises that this city holds, it’s the Roman Wall, which demarcated the city. In a well preserved state, it still holds 36 towers.

On the other hand, in León you can find one of the few buildings of Gaudi outside of Catalonia: the Botines house.
